How will the Boks get their "Spring" back?

After last weekends pathetic second half performance to scrape a win against the Lions, it is clear that the Springboks have a lot of work to do in order to get their match fitness back up to scratch.
So we turn to our resident sport scientist for information on what the Boks may do to get back on top for next week. He broke it down into three main areas of work for the squad in camp this week, these are Recovery, Fitness and Acclimatization.

Recovery:
-Ice Bath's: The team would have enjoyed a brisk ice bath session first thing Sunday morning to help provide relief for their battered bodies.
- Recovery exercises: The Boks will have light bicycle and spinning sessions to help recovery while exercising.
- Physio: Players will see the resident Physio's to help work out any aches and pains so that they are at physical peak for the match on Saturday.

Fitness and Training:
- They will not work too hard on fitness as they will have to trust the work they did in training camp to get them through the match on Saturday.
- Match fitness will only come through game time, an area the Lions have a massive advantage.
- Fitness sessions may be held on Tuesday and maybe lightly on Wednesday.
- They may have a light weight session on Wednesday, but just for maintenance.
- They will not do fitness training on Thursday or Friday as they will aim to peak physically on Saturday afternoon.

Acclimatization:
- As their training camp was held at altitude they will have no problem acclimatizing to Pretoria's height above sea level.

So a big thanks to out resident sport scientists Mr P for some good insight into what the Bokke could be doing this week. Lets hope that they boys will be back to their best this weekend.

(Match build up to the second test in Pretoria starts at 1pm on Sky Sports 1)
